A Testimony of Faith and Transformation

My name is Rene Gilberto Romero, and I am in pursuit of Jesus Christ. I was mostly raised by my oldest sister from the time I was a baby through my toddler years.

As I got older, everyone went on to live their own lives, and I was left to fend for myself. My mom was always working and didn't have much time for me, so I started spending my time in the streets with friends from school. There, I received the attention I was looking for.

At seventeen, I almost got married, but I felt I was too young to be getting married and tied down to someone. Growing up in a big city like Los Angeles, life was in the fast lane.

I am so glad that I eventually followed my mother to her hometown of Mexicali, Mexico, because it was there that I was introduced to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I Know Jesus Is REAL!

It took me some time to really wrap my head around it, but I now know that Jesus Christ lives in me. I read my Bible because the Word of God is alive and active.

I want to give the rest of the days that the Lord is willing to give me to glorify His name. My desire is for Jesus to use this life and this temple for His glory alone.

I have always chosen to live how I pleased, but not today. Today, I ask the Lord to help me start over again, His way, as He pleases.

One thing I would like to leave behind is to be a light unto someone else's path, helping them find the Lord. Jesus never stopped looking for me, and that is what saved my life.

This verse (Psalm 139;23-24) reminds me how I can stay connected to the Lord by continually examining my heart and making sure it is in the right place for Him, for myself, and for those around me.

My desire is not only to remain connected to the Lord but also to continue becoming a better Christian so that others may see His light through my life.
