We Are Called Children Of God!

Hello, my name is John Chacon, and I am so thankful for God’s love and mercy in my life.

I came into the home in June of 2019, and my life was a mess. I was addicted to drugs, I had no job, and my family did not want anything to do with me. I had hit rock bottom, and I thought that there was no hope for me.

When I first came into the home like most people I really did not want to be here.

I was thinking that I was just going to skate through the program just so that people would just get off my back.

After I completed my first week of being in the home I started to think more clearly and then I decided to get baptized and then I finally began to submit myself to God and start to change my attitude and things began to get a little easier for me.
Jeremiah
The next thing I knew I had successfully completed the year program and I was so thankful to have the chains that held be back for so many years finally broken in my life. I decided to give back by agreeing to do an internship.

I went from feeling like I did not have any hope, but just like God’s words says, “for I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.

God being true to his word, two months into my internship I was given the opportunity to become an employee of Turning Point Men’s Home. I am now going on three years at Turning Point and looking back at my life it was one of the best decisions that I ever made.

I was once a very selfish person only caring about myself, but now I find myself thinking of others first. Whenever I see one of the brothers at the home going through something similar that I have experienced I am quick to tell him some of my testimony to help strengthen and encourage them.

I know that I will never be perfect, but I do know that I am a lot better than what I used to be, and it is all thanks to God.
