My name is Nathan Rodarte, and I am 27 years old. From a young age, drugs and alcohol began to control my life. I was quick to blame my parents, which led to anger in my heart, and I started running away from home, using substances to numb the pain.
This cycle led me into stealing and engaging in illegal activities, eventually resulting in time spent in Juvenile Hall and later county jail. I was always under the government's radar for suspicious behavior.
Then, in April, something changed. While being released from Imperial County Jail, I encountered my grandmother. She asked me, "Son, is everything okay?" I opened up to her, sharing that I wasn't okay and that I was tired of running from the law and living a life of crime. I told her I needed help, and she shared that she had been praying for me, hoping that this day would come. She told me about a Christian home for men struggling with addiction and life's challenges, and asked if I was willing to go. I agreed because I knew I needed to change. On April 18, I made the decision to go to Turning Point Men's Home.
The first few weeks at the home were tough, but I pushed through because I knew I didn't want to return to the darkness I had come from.
God gave me the strength to stay on the right path, leading me away from the old, destructive ways that once controlled me.
On July 31, I was baptized, washing away my sins and embracing the new life that God had promised.

Through my relationship with God, I've gained wisdom that has helped me become a stronger, healthier Christian.
Letting God guide my life has brought me peace because His way is the truth, the way, and the life. Moving forward, my plan is to graduate from Turning Point and reclaim what the enemy has taken from me. I will continue to follow God's word.
My life now has purpose because God saved me from the ways of this world. All glory and honor go to God.
I want to thank everyone that supports the home. I appreciate your investment in our lives.
God Bless
Nathan Rodarte
