As I write this letter I am overwhelmed by the powerful testament to the transformative power and faith found in God’s grace.
For so many years of my life, I was caught up in the grip of darkness, ensnared by the fast life, recklessness, and a life that seemed devoid of purpose.
The adrenaline of the street life pulled me further and further away from the love of God. But then, something remarkable happened.
Rather than returning to the state penitentiary, as I have done over and over throughout my life, I was blessed with His grace and mercy and allowed to stay at Turning Point Men’s Home. My decision to stay in the Home and not run like I always had done, has been a decision that has altered the course of my life forever.

Rather than returning to the state penitentiary, as I have done over and over throughout my life, I was blessed with His grace and mercy and allowed to stay at Turning Point Men’s Home. My decision to stay in the Home and not run like I always had done, has been a decision that has altered the course of my life forever.
I turned my life over to the Lord, seeking His guidance and light. And in that surrender, I found salvation, baptism, and a new identity as a born-again believer.
Faithful servants have guided me: Pastor Norman Chandler, Men’s Home Supervisor Luis Barajas, and Turning Point Ministries staff Eduardo Ramos, John Chacon, and Mark Holmes.
These faithful servants help me daily to apply Ephesians 4:22-24; “to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness,” to my daily walk with Christ. I shed off the old self and embrace a Godly lifestyle.
Turning Point Men’s Home became my beacon of hope, leading me out of darkness and into the light. Within the walls of the Home, I discovered peace-a foundation to seek God and the kingdom of Heaven.
With every action of the day, I am filled with purpose. Whether I am working or helping others I am doing it as unto the Lord.

Today, I stand at a crossroads, a life blessed with another opportunity and my old life behind. I recognize that it is God’s grace that brought me here. So, from the depths of my heart, I extend thanks to all those who pray and financially support Turning Point Men’s Home.
