The God Of All Grace
Has Restored Me!
I serve a God filled with grace and mercy.
Time and time again the Lord has had compassion on my life. The Lord’s hands of protection spared my life once again.
My name is Mark Holmes and would not be writing this if it wasn’t for God. Seven months ago, I was found unresponsive because I had consumed so
much alcohol.
Coming to consciousness I was told that I had been on life support and that “I was lucky to be alive.” It had nothing to do with luck! It was God who saved me. This is not the first time the Lord has brought me from San Diego back to Holtville. Back to Turning Point Men’s Home. I have struggled with alcoholism since I was 15 years old.
An affliction that has destroyed everything good in my life.
Although, there has been many times in my life I wanted to give up the Lord continues to renew my spirit. The Lord continues to demonstrate His goodness all
around me. There are men like Norman Chandler and Luis Barajas that have not given up on me.
I remember having a recent conversation with Norm and thanked him for not giving up on me. He smiled and said “Jesus has not given up on you and I won’t either.” Luis has not only been a dear friend of mine but also a mentor.
Both Luis and Norm demonstrate what the Lord has done in them through the workings of the Men’s Home many years ago. An example that builds my hope on a daily basis.
